So, Golden Globes 2013. Awesome stuff. And, with massive award nights like this, trends in fashion are noted by people like... well, me. So my first ever post (can you believe it) is going to be about, yes, I know you've read the title and everything, trends at the Golden Globes 2013. (I do not own any of these photos)
Let's start with the plunging necklines, shall we?
 |
Eva Longoria. Sticking with good old black. And lace. If it wasn't for the peephole and the thigh-high split, the look would've been generic. The beehive hair definitely suits the look, not taking too much attention away from the dress, but at the same time, not being too boring. I, personally think a touch of colour would have made the look even better. Maybe some ruby earrings or something. I don't know. Just something to brighten the look up a little. Even a silver clutch would have been nice. Eva's makeup, however, is absolutely flawless. The smokey eye and nude lips work perfectly with the outfit. Overall, I'm giving her look an 8.5/10. |

| Moving on. Claire Danes plays the plunging neckline a bit more safely than the others, but the look is somewhat predictable on her. More often than not, she goes with a solid colour and a full length dress. In saying that, this dress is HOT! The red really looks good in her and the cinched in waist gives her a flattering silhouette. I'm not a fan of the panda eyes though. Toning down the eye makeup and adding a few accessories wouldn't have hurt. A nice bracelet would've been good. Hair: perfect. Overall, I'm giving her a 7/10. |

| Allison Williams looks sooo perf in this J. Mendel gown! And has anyone seen the back of it? This is literally like, the most amazing creation. Like, ever. Allison paired the dress with some dangly peach coloured earrings and matching lippy. Her eyes really pop in a smokey-eye variation (Claire Danes, take note) and her hair is elegantly pulled back so as not to distract from the uh-mazing dress. Completely, 100% a fan. 10/10! |

| Okay, so just ignore the weird stare on Jon Hamm's face for a minute... (sorry mate)... Jennifer Westfeldt looks stellar in this plunging dark purple number. The thick-banded waist makes her look thinner and the straight skirt lengthens her legs. I'm not really getting the whole shiny material thing though... looks a bit awkward. Her hair and makeup look flawless, but I would've liked to see maybe a tiny bit more jewellery. Overall, it gets a 6.5/10 from me. |

| Jessica Chastain. What are you wearing!?!? The pale blue material is loose and daggy, and does nothing for her pale skin. The old-school hair style looks way too styled and hair spray-ed. And what's with that weird parting? The lipstick colour is too dark for her, and makes her looks somewhat like a witch. Some slightly darker eyeshadow wouldn't hurt either. Overall, I'm giving her a 2/10. Sorry Jessica. |

| Katharine McPhee looks super sexy in this edgy black Theyskens' Theory dress, costing just $795! Although the dress is super revealing and super risky, Katharine totally rocks the look. Her messy bun adds some life to the stiff-looking dress, and her accessories are just perfect. I'm especially loving the bracelet! The only thing that isn't quite right about the outfit is the shoes. They make her feet look big and awkward. I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but her whole outfit quite....black. Well, apart from a few little things like her clutch and stuff, but you know what I mean. I think she could've brightened the lip colour a little and ditched those weird shoes for some cobalt pumps. Thoughts, anyone? Overall, I'm giving her a 9/10. |
 |
| Sticking with the popular colour of black, Kristen Wiig stepped out in an....interestingly cut dress. The plunging neckline really works for her, but I'm afraid the same can't be said about the diamond shaped cut underneath. This peculiar little hole in the middle of her dress does nothing for her figure, and actually makes her looks somewhat... well, bigger... Her simple gold accessories compliment the look well, but her overall appearance just looks quite boring. I'm giving her a 4.5/10. |

| Sally Field really knows how to work an off-the shoulder plunging dress. The dress itself, I have to say, is nothing spectacular. It's quite a common type of thing celebs go for, actually. The accessories though, look absolutely stunning. The short silver necklace is eye-catching and the clutch makes the look far from boring. Her pink lippy is something others should really learn from. It looks amazing! Sally's pulled back hair ensures no attention is taken away from her outfit, but I think her fringe could have used a bit of grooming. The messiness of it detracts some of the worth of the whole look. Overall, an 8/10. |

Amy Poehler shows us that plunging necklines aren't just for dresses. Her suit, sticking with the black theme, would've been so blah if it weren't for the shorter-than-usual cut offs. However, the pants being cut off short just make her look shorter than she already is. I love the red nails as they add a touch of colour to the look. Her stilettos save the outfit from being too blocky, and her side bun looks effortlessly chic. I'm just not a fan of the necklace. That's all. I'm giving her an 8/10 overall. |
